Can a nuclear meltdown actually be stopped?

Now that Japan has cooled the cores in the affected reactors, have they stopped melting? What exactly is going on in these cores right now, and what will happen to them in the future?

a nuclear meltdown is when the nuclear reactor is damaged because of over heating. this is because of a foundering in the chilling system. of flow it could be stuffed. exclusive of whats going on bring up japans atomic power plant prerogative toud de suite? i don't know
