After the second hydrogen explosion in japan the gulf oil spill and fracking toxic chemicals spills?

Are These Options for Energy Wise???More than 80% of all wells drilled in the U. S. today use some kind of "fracking." The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection shut down some operations of natural gas driller Cabot Oil & Gas after 8,000 gallons of toxic chemicals were spilled on the ground and into a creek in Susquehanna County. In a 2007 case unrelated to Cabot, an Ohio house exploded from what state regulators determined was a buildup of methane bubbling up water pipes from wells polluted by drilling operations. Nineteen neighboring homes were evacuated. Last April at least 10 cows died in Louisiana after drinking fracking chemicals collected at a drilling site operated by Chesapeake Energyhttp://bx. businessweek. com/liquified-nat…Japan's nuclear safety agency said 6 workers were injured in Monday's explosion but it was not immediately clear how, or whether they were exposed to radiation. Up to 160 may have been exposed to radiation. Operators have lost the ability to cool three reactors at Dai-ichi and three more at another nearby complex using usual procedures, after the quake knocked out power and the tsunami swamped backup generators. http://news. yahoo. com/s/ap/ap_on_bi_ge/a…Could this Happen here in the USA???After These Disasters is using these energy methods wise when we could use wind and solar???

Currently, oil and fossil fuel are the primary source of our energy needs. Although generation / exploration of these energy sources are generally easy and most profitable, it is not renewable and will deplete in the long run. That is aside from the environmental damage that it creates from its exploration to its final use. Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy, such as using wind turbines to make electricity, wind mills for mechanical power, wind pumps for pumping water or drainage, or sails to propel ships. Geothermal power is cost effective, reliable, sustainable, and environmentally friendly, but has historically been limited to areas near tectonic plate boundaries. Recent technological advances have dramatically expanded the range and size of viable resources, especially for applications such as home heating, opening a potential for widespread exploitation. Geothermal wells release greenhouse gases trapped deep within the earth, but these emissions are much lower per energy unit than those of fossil fuels. As a result, geothermal power has the potential to help mitigate global warming if widely deployed in place of fossil fuels. The sun not only gives us light at daytime but it is a major renewable energy source. In fact even in the old times they already harness the power of the sun for hot water and power for some appliances with solar panel. Aside from the sun we also generate renewable energy from the wind. Turbines converts to electricity the force that the wind turbines collect from the wind.

What I don't get is why don't we store energy in the form of hydrogen? You could run wind turbines and solar panels and have them convert water into hydrogen. That way we can build up hydrogen reserves! Yesssssssssss! Probably not a viable option, but a man can dream can't he!?

Sure we could use wind and solar....assuming of course we modify our lives and society to consume far less energy. Wind and solar is far from being a replacement. Thorium is a viable answer to our energy concerns.

If people could be legally executed for being stupid Donald would be dead for his response. Except for some type of 'quantum power' that might potentially come from the LHC this is pretty much a list of all major players in the clean energy game who currently have potential. While there may be newer players this is a fairly conclusive and current list I wrote for another reason. http://www. amsc. com/( The company is a leader in renewable energy, providing proven, megawatt-scale wind turbine designs and electrical control systems.)Superconductor technology is well understood - Google ithttp://www. fusionpowercorporation. com/1_…(Nuclear Fusion)http://www. youtube. com/watch? v=d8h5ZuPQW…(Fusion is established, documented, demonstrated and understood)http://www. americanenergyinnovation. org/(Bill Gates)http://www2.goldmansachs. com/services/ad…(look at link name)http://www2.goldmansachs. com/our-firm/pr…(See Above)http://www. jouleunlimited. com(Joule will directly target fossil fuel replacement with unprecedented volumes of renewable diesel, at a fraction of the land use incurred by current methods. Your premise is falseThere is not the slightest chance in the world that we can meet the energy needs of The United States of America with wind and solar energy. If you think that the economy is bad now you have not seen anythingIf we tried to use Solar Power and Wind power as a substitute energy without nuclear energy you would have unemployment in the range of 60 to 70%.You would have massive poverty and starvationThe result would be misery on unimaginable proportions. Substituting Solar Power and Wind Power for electricity that is produced by fossil fuels and Nuclear Energy is a fantasy. I recommend that you come back to reality. You have to figure out how to meet the energy needs of The United States of America with fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Fortunately the accident at the Japanese Power Plants was caused by imp[roper placement of the backup generators. The backup generators were placed on the ground rather than on top of the reactor buildingsThe water fro the Tsunami covered the backup generators because the backup generators were on the ground. The result is that the backup generators failed because they were on the ground. If the backup generators had been placed on top of the buildings the backup generators would have been untouched by the water from the Tsunami. In The United states of America the back up generators are placed high enough so that they will not be covered by floodwater. Also in the United States of America additional backup generators are required in different locations so that if there is a flood or other environmental disaster there are still operating backup generators to operate the pumps for the Coolingg water. Essentially the reason that the Japanese nuclear power plants failed is because the Japanese cut corners on those nuclear power plants. .

We're smart enough not to put our nuclear power plants on shifty, seismically active ground. Unfortunately, we're not smart enough to see through the criticism of the one energy source that is the answer for the human race by pointing at instances, (like Japan,) where nuclear power plants were irresponsibly installed between buildings on rollers, which should have been their first clue that it was a bad idea.
