Google Acquires Clever Sense and Provides an Answer to Siri

Google has acquired Clever Sense, the developer of the Alfred Mobile Application, that offers services related to the providing of suggestions of nightclubs or discos, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, situated in close proximity with the help of ‘machine learning algorithms' and ‘artificial intelligence'.

The Alfred application includes an Extraction Engine that has been developed inside the Clever Sense Platform. This Extraction Engine curates huge chunks of crawled data that are in an unstructured form by leveraging statistical machine learning, data mining algorithms and natural language processing. When a reading is done through the data, the Extraction learns about the concepts that offer description of physical items of the actual world. It is these conceptions that form the basis as far as the foundation of the Clever Sense Interest Graph is concerned. This Extraction Engine also leverages the interactions based on social aspects such as the ratings, likes and check- in's to improve the Interest Graph. It also helps in the calculation of the similarities via the algorithms that are graph based by resorting to these interactions of social nature.
