Biometric Single Sign On is Also Called SSO

Biometric single sign on is a method used to access computer systems that have a need for stronger than average security features. Unlike a typical system, which allows access with a simple password, this type uses unique identification from each user.

SSO, or single sign on, refers to the way a computer system can be set up to allow users to logon to it. This system can use biometric characteristics to be required in order to be able to access it. Typically, fingerprint identification will be used. Instead of requiring users to enter a password, the system will have a device attached to it that will allow the fingerprint to be read.

This method of system access can take the place of other access methods for one part of a system or all of it. It is considered superior in many ways to standard access methods but is considered particularly useful in the case where a user would normally have to obtain and memorize multiple passwords.
