They can be assigned the tasks according to the process like many machines perform the same task or can do different. Virtual server is a server that is independent of hardware on which it is used. Many virtual machines may be used through server hardware and they can be run on any machine and no alterations are required. The only thing it uses is what resources are being provided by a server to the virtual one.
